Product Description
A super project for someone who does not want to weld - and a really desirable EarlyBay model with some nice additional features.
Built in December 1969, exported to Belgium and then onto the USA where it spent most of its life. Imported to the UK in September 2010.
This is a 99% complete Westfalia including all the correct year camping furniture, rock and roll bed, cushions, front seat hammock, top hammock, OG curtains, fridge, wardrobe, buddy seat and that famous pop top.
Runs and drives but will need updating to UK spec lights, front window installing, brake overhaul etc before MOT. All this is straightforward to do compared to some US projects.
The big advantage of this Bus is ALL the major structual welding is done and detailed on this website under Easley - her name.
Repairs have been blogged on this site VW Camper repair
Repairs include lower nose inner and outer, both dogleg steps, rear corners, battery tray, short sills, jacking point, complete wheelarch, sliding door long sill, etc Work carried out by professional bodywork man to very high standards, the finish of the welding is top notch and with a little work this Campervan could go to paint quite quickly. The sliding door may need some light repairs to the bottom - there are some small pinholes there. Currently also missing the left side front door glass.
Engine is unknown origin but seems to start up and run fine. The running gear all seems to work. Doors work, gaps are good, chrome is ok, glass is all there, lovely rare Eberspacher heater. Empi trigger shifter, over-riders on the Bumpers. Dash is good except around the Clarion stereo. Electrics will need going through.
The front window is a genuine Volkswagen part so will fit - unlike some newer parts.
Spares that come with it but not shown are the wiper arms, antenna, front window seal, curtain track, remote for stereo.
ALL UK IMPORT TAXES PAID. Being a 1969 it is UK road tax exempt. To get a UK reg is simple, an MOT, insurance certificate and a form filled out and this Bus could be driving quite quickly.
